Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition and health science to enable individuals to maximise their health potential. It can help to alleviate a wide range of health conditions and seeks to identify and address the potential underlying causes behind a person’s symptoms, for example nutrient deficiencies or allergies. One of the main aims of nutritional therapy is to help promote optimal health, characterised by high energy levels, enhanced mental and emotional well-being, and optimal physical performance.
Nutritional therapy recognises that each person is an individual who has unique dietary and nutritional requirements. A nutritional therapist provides personalised dietary and lifestyle advice to help people take control of and maintain their health.

What does a consultation involve?
Prior to the initial consultation you will be sent a comprehensive questionnaire which will ask you to provide information on your symptoms, medical history, diet, lifestyle e.g. exercise and any medication or supplements you might be taking. Your first consultation will last an hour. During this time, Louise will discuss your questionnaire with you and gather information on your health history, diet and lifestyle to develop a tailored, nutritional programme to meet your individual needs and which fits with your lifestyle.
Diagnostic tests, such as those to help determine hormonal or digestive imbalances, may be recommended depending on your particular symptoms. Your progress is monitored at the follow up consultation, which usually takes place four to six weeks after the initial consultation. Depending on your needs, you may require several additional follow up consultations over a period of approximately three to six months.
