What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is a natural approach to restoring and maintaining good health.

At foodlinkfirst we assess an individual’s background, the demands of their lifestyle and their specific physiological needs. We use this information to build a nutrition strategy which is tailored to the client and focuses on addressing their specific health concerns. We offer a proactive form of healthcare which addresses the potential causes of ill health be they nutritional deficiencies, biochemical imbalances, allergies or food sensitivities.

Applying nutritional therapy in this way may prove invaluable for the management of a wide range of health conditions from autism and hyperactivity to hormonal problems, multiple sclerosis, depression and weight management.

Your Consultation

What can you expect?

  • All consultations are confidential
  • Advice and recommendations are personalised to your specific lifestyle and commitments
  • Full support is provided throughout the duration of the programme.

Prior to your appointment you will be asked to complete a comprehensive nutrition and lifestyle questionnaire. This information will be developed to provide a complete picture of your diet, medical history and lifestyle.

Dependent on the nature of your symptoms and their severity it may be advisable to conduct certain diagnostic tests. These laboratory procedures provide tools to assess biochemical imbalances, immune reactions or digestive dysfunction. Such tests may confirm suspected problems or validate the necessary nutritional protocol. We only use reputed organisations offering some of the most advanced diagnostic services currently available in the UK.

You are advised to allow 60 minutes for the initial consultation and a minimum of 45 minutes for a follow up assessment. Where test results need to be discussed the follow up appointment may need to be extended.

When attending your consultation please bring full details of any nutritional supplements and / or any current medication.

At the end of your consultation you will be given a tailored nutritional programme which will incorporate dietary advice, lifestyle modifications, advice on supplements (if appropriate) as well as full explanations of the recommendations made.

For appointments or more information please contact the Clinic tel: 01252 811821.

WEIGHT LOSS PACKAGE With Personal Training

Vitality and weight loss package
….empowering you to lose weight and feel great!
We offer a tailor-made nutrition and personal training programme to help you achieve your weight loss goals and to improve your overall sense of well being.
Kerry Torrens Nutritional Therapist and Nicola Rapley, Premier Three, Personal Trainer will work with you on a one-to-one basis to provide you with a personalised food plan and exercise programme, as well as lifestyle advice, to help you lose weight – and keep it off.
We don’t believe in faddy diets and dramatic weight loss. We advocate that the healthiest way to lose weight – and keep it off - is to lose it gradually through good nutrition and regular exercise.  Losing weight is not always easy and there can be a wide range of factors that might have contributed to your weight gain.  As a nutritional therapist Kerry recognises that each person is an individual who has unique dietary and nutrition needs.  She will work with you to help address the factors that have lead to your weight gain and to provide you with a personalised food plan and lifestyle advice to help you reach your weight loss goals. Likewise, our personal trainer, Nicola, will assess your exercise requirements and develop an exercise programme specialised for your needs and that fits with your lifestyle, whether you’ve never undertaken regular exercise before or you are stuck in an exercise ‘rut’ and want advice on new ways to shake up your work-out and increase the intensity for better results.
We understand that it can be difficult to adjust to a new way of eating and/or starting regular exercise and committing to it on a regular basis which is why we offer email and phone support during your weight loss programme to help keep you motivated and to answer any questions you may have along the way.

Package includes:

  • A one hour nutrition consultation and half hour follow up appointment
  • Three one hour personal training sessions
  • Exercise plan specific to your personal needs
  • Telephone and email support
  • Food diary analysis
  • Realistic and practical advice
